I had
mentioned a while back that I had scored a black DVF cocktail dress for $77 on massive sale at Bloomie's. Well, I just wanted to take a moment to gloat, because I was perusing
Rent the Runway, and came across the same dress for rent (I will discuss
RTR in another post). The rental price was $50. So for $27 more, I actually get to
own this dress, and wear it as many times as I want, while the less savvy masses are paying $50 to wear it once. Because, clearly, the
masses are going on RTR to rent this dress. I feel validated and just wanted to share. But there is a lesson here--if you're contemplating renting one of the lower-end dresses on
RTR, do a quick online search, because you may be able to buy that dress on sale for close to the rental price!
